Becky Ramsey
CO-FOUNDER & COACH
Becky’s Story
Becky loves the outdoors, nature and animals. Becky is an overcomer who has learned and mastered resiliency. While attending college at 20, she was paralyzed by a drunk driver and later survived 3 bouts with cancer.
After Becky was injured, she got her Private Pilot Certificate and decided to pursue a career in the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA). In the FAA, Becky held leadership roles for over 28 years, including the manager of a national leadership development office. In that position she oversaw training, coaching, mentoring, change management, and development for over 850 leaders and 5,000 employees. She was tasked with planning and driving a complex culture change and coaching the executive team on leading that culture change and on their team effectiveness. Becky retired in 2019 and founded a leadership consulting business with 3 other partners. After helping that business grow and become successful, Becky sold her partnership to create The Ascent Lab – focusing on coaching and training.
Becky holds a Bachelor of Science in Animal Health and a Bachelor of Science in Biology. She is a Professional Certified Coach (PCC). In leadership coaching, she specializes in Presence-Based leadership – helping leaders improve their emotional intelligence and gain greater awareness of themselves and their leadership persona and change habits of thinking. She coaches leaders struggling with complex issues related to culture change and team effectiveness. She coaches, trains and mentors leaders in leadership development. In personal coaching, Becky specializes in helping people move forward in grief; coaching those in life transitions, coaching people who are searching for their purpose in life and who want to create a better life for themselves, coaching those who have experienced religious trauma, and coaching for general wellness. She also provides resilience coaching for both leaders and personal clients. Becky’s style of coaching is empathic and humorous – helping herself and her clients not take themselves too seriously. She is a deep and caring non-judgmental listener who helps her clients see what they couldn’t see before.
Becky lives in both Texas and New Mexico with her husband. In her spare time, she loves spending time outdoors with her husband, her two Great Danes and her rescue dog and cat. She enjoys writing, reading, camping, hunting for arrowheads and pottery, off-roading, and swimming. She is proud of, and crazy about, her niece who has overcome addiction.
